2 CASE tool
программный инструментарий системы автоматизированного программирования, CASE-инструменткласс инструментальных средств, способствующих повышению эффективности труда программиста; обычно включает один или несколько визуальных редакторов для построения различных видов диаграмм и графиков (структур данных, потоков данных, взаимозависимостей и т. п.) с учётом конкретной методологии, на которую ориентирован инструмент. Например, для базы данных одной из таких диаграмм будет схема БД, отображающая структуру записи. Затем CASE-инструмент преобразует (транслирует) диаграммы либо в исходный текст того или иного языка программирования, либо в набор шаблонов, которые программист может заполнить, чтобы получить исходный текст.
